Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists he would not swap Cristiano Ronaldo for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.2
The two stars will go head to head in Saturday’s Champions League final, with Salah’s remarkable performances this season drawing comparisons to Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Salah’s 44-goal season has also led to speculation that he could be a target for Real this summer.
When asked if he would swap Ronaldo for Salah, Zidane said: “No, I have Cristiano and I talk about my players.”
Ronaldo, who is the Champions League’s leading marksman this season having found the net 15 times, has scored 42 goals in all competitions this campaign.
The Portugal captain will be looking to catch Salah when two sides meet in Kiev on Saturday evening, with Madrid seeking a third consecutive Champions League title and a fourth in five seasons, while Liverpool will be looking to claim the trophy for the first time since 2005.
“I can’t tell you about the opponent,” Zidane said. “I don’t know what they are.
“What I can say is that we will have the same desire as always. This club is what it is – the same enthusiasm, dedication and desire as always. And nobody can take that away or tell us that we are less hungry than others. No one.
“We are Madrid and this club is what it is. We always want more and we will give everything to try to do it in the best way.”
