  • Users of the OnePlus 7 and 7T series are facing several problems after the stable Android 11 update.
  • The most common issues include battery drain, overheating, frame rate drops, sluggish UI, and more.
  • Many users are considering rolling back to Android 10 due to the problems.

The Android 11 update for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series rolled out back in March, but more than a month later, users are still facing troublesome usability issues with the phones.

Customers report that their OnePlus 7/7T devices are anything but stable after the Android 11 update. Some common problems include a drastic increase in battery drain, frame rate drops resulting in a bad gaming experience, overheating issues even when the phones are idle, and uncomfortably long app load times.

A Reddit mega-thread dedicated to the update is filled to the brim with complaints and so is the official OnePlus forum.

Besides the aforementioned issues that are most prevalent on the updated OnePlus 7 and 7T series phones, several users are also reporting trouble connecting to mobile data, slower scrolling, slowed down notifications, app crashes, and more.

“The new update on my OnePlus 7 has literally broken it. There are consistent frame drops while playing games. The new update has destroyed my gaming experience, the device is overheating more than before and it has reduced battery efficiency too. What a curse I got in return for few crap UI perks,” reads a disgruntled user’s comment in the Reddit thread.

OnePlus recently rolled the Oxygen OS 11.0.0.2 hotfix for the phones. However, users who got the latest software are still reporting the same (and some more) problems with their phones.

There’s no official word from OnePlus about when it’ll resolve these issues. The company might address them in future software updates, but it could take a while since the OnePlus 7 and 7T devices aren’t exactly new, and the firm might be more focused on releasing updates for more recent phones.

Meanwhile, if you regret making the leap to Android 11 on your OnePlus 7 or 7T, you might want to consider downgrading to Android 10. Just know that rolling back will fully wipe all the data from your device.

You can follow this comprehensive guide on Reddit to learn how you can go back to Android 10 on your OnePlus 7/7T devices.
