  • A high-ranking Samsung executive has apologized for the Galaxy S22 throttling controversy.
  • He also said Samsung will add new features to prevent overheating.

Samsung was mired in controversy earlier this month thanks to a throttling saga. It emerged that the Galaxy S22 series of phones significantly throttled performance in games via so-called GOS software, but that the software couldn’t be disabled. The phones didn’t throttle benchmark apps though, with popular benchmark app Geekbench later removing the S22 series from its rankings.

Now, Samsung Electronics vice chairman and co-CEO Han Hong-hee has apologized for the performance throttling, The Korea Herald reported.
