Samsung Galaxy M32 composite official

  • Samsung Galaxy M32 specs have apparently leaked.
  • The specs show a phone that still has a ton in common with its predecessor.

Samsung’s Galaxy M series has joined the A series in delivering pretty good budget phones for a while now. It looks like the Galaxy M32 is the latest device set for release, and the specs have just been leaked.

Tipster Ishan Agarwal leaked the Galaxy M32 specs in conjunction with 91mobiles, and it doesn’t look like a clear-cut upgrade from the Galaxy M31. The new phone apparently sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a notch, a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, 4GB to 6GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of expandable storage, and a 6,000mAh battery.

Photography duties are purportedly handled by a quad-camera setup, featuring a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a pair of 5MP sensors for macro shots and depth effects. A 20MP camera is said to handle selfies and video calls.

Taken together, it seems like the Galaxy M32 is very similar to the Galaxy M31 launched last year. The old phone has an FHD+ OLED panel, the same 6,000mAh battery, and more RAM in the base model. We also see a similar rear camera setup, albeit with a 64MP primary sensor on the older phone.

One major difference is the use of a Helio G85 SoC in the new phone versus an Exynos 9611 in the M31. The MediaTek chipset uses newer CPU cores (two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores) versus the older cores (four Cortex-A73 and four A53 cores) seen in the Exynos processor. This should give it the advantage in terms of single-core performance, but the older phone might still have the edge in multi-core performance due to it having more heavyweight cores.

Samsung has also posted official images of the device (seen at the top of the page), revealing a square rear camera housing, striped pattern on the back, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In any event, we hope the Galaxy M32 is cheaper than its predecessor given that it doesn’t seem like a major upgrade.
