Many Android Authority readers use Android smartphones as their daily drivers, with some sporting iOS devices as sidekicks. While Google and Apple still dominate the mobile OS landscape, that isn’t quite the case for computers.
Microsoft continues to lead with Windows powering desktops and laptops in homes and offices across the world. However, it’s not the only desktop OS out there. According to data from IDC (via Geekwire), Chrome OS eclipsed Mac OS as the world’s second most popular computer operating system in 2020. Linux, lead by the likes of Ubuntu, continues to be a player for those seeking a flexible and free OS, too.
