  • Motorola has launched its first G series phones with a 108MP camera.
  • The Moto G60 also brings a large 6,000mAh battery and a 120Hz display.
  • The company has also announced the cheaper Moto G40 Fusion.

Motorola has launched its first mid-range phone with the 108MP camera. The Moto G60 has arrived in India alongside the cheaper Moto G40 Fusion.

Both smartphones feature the Snapdragon 732 chipset, 6.8-inch 120Hz displays, a 6,000mAh battery, and Android 11 out of the box.

The made-in-India devices are identical except for their camera setups. In that department, the Moto G60 has become the first G series phone to get a 108MP high-resolution camera. It also features an 8MP sensor that can shoot both ultra-wide and macro photos, as well as a third depth sensor. There’s a 32MP selfie shooter placed within a centered punch hole up front.

Meanwhile, the Moto G40 Fusion settles for a 64MP main sensor. The other two rear camera sensors and the selfie snapper are the same as the G60.

Elsewhere, the two new Moto phones feature a physical fingerprint sensor on the back panel. They also have a dedicated Google Assistant button on the side to enable voice controls. You also get to use Motorola’s quick gestures for ease of access. For instance, you can twist your wrist to open the camera, chop down twice to turn on the flashlight, and take a screenshot with a single touch.

Motorola claims that the Moto G60 and G40 Fusion are “water repellent” and can survive splashes or spills. However, the company hasn’t provided any official IP ratings for waterproofing.
