The biggest storyline to watch heading into the weekend of basketball is Stephen Curry’s status for Saturday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Curry has missed the last 15 games for the Golden State Warriors between the playoffs after suffering a grade 2 MCL sprain.

Curry went through a full practice, and Kevin Durant was impressed with what he saw out of the Warriors superstar.

According to Melissa Rohlin of the Bay Area News Group, Durant said that Curry had a clear mind and fresh legs at practice, and was very enthusiastic.

Yesterday Steve Kerr said Curry was questionable for Game 1, but there would be a more definitive answer after shootaround on Saturday.

Steph practiced 100 percent and looked good too. I would say he is questionable for game one, what we have to do is see how is body responds the rest of the day and put him through another practice tomorrow. I think he needs to string together a few good days but I think it’s positive.

For the Warriors the Pelicans are going to be a much bigger test than the San Antonio Spurs were in Round 1. Having Curry back would give them another weapon from deep, and another guy the Pelicans would have to try and figure out how to cover.

The Pelicans had success covering Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum but with all the weapons the Warriors have from deep it’s going to be a much tougher battle.
